Backflow Prevention

Many people ask “Why do I need a backflow preventer?”

If your sprinkler water supply is connected to your potable water connection and a backflow or back pressure event occurs, the backflow preventer will keep contamination from entering your potable household water .

Every irrigation system in that category should have some type of a backflow prevention device, either a pressure vacuum breaker or in some cases a reduced pressure vacuum breaker to ensure that nothing hazardous can get into your potable water.

The valves that turn on and off your irrigation system are not sufficient to stop backflow.

The purpose of the backflow preventer is to protect you when the valve breaks or leaks, which all valves will do eventually.

Each of your hose spigots should also have one made specifically for hose spigots.

We stock both pressure backflows and reduced pressure backflows up to 2″ as well as the repair parts for most major brands.

For units over 2″, if it’s available, we will get it for you.
